
Purpose of Scholarship
Assist eligible candidate with the continuation of formal education. Formal education applies to any school and/or college with curriculum, whether it is under graduate, post graduate, or occupational school. "Leisure Learning" courses are not considered as continuation of formal education. Preference for scholarships will be given to graduating high school seniors and recent graduates wishing to attend either college or an occupational school. Eligibility: Primary member in good standing (as outlined in CCCC’s By Laws), spouse or significant other, children, or grand children of primary member. Application for scholarship is on an annual basis and must reapply for the following academic year.
Requirements:
Applications must be completed 100% and submitted along with completed recommendations to the "scholarship administrator" by the posted dead line, or they will not be considered. Request for application to scholarship must be made by mail to designated address. "Mail" is understood to mean US Postal Service or electronic mail.
Funding
Administration
January: President will appoint a three person committee with one person as committee head to accept and review applications that will be mailed to the committee head’s designated address. Club Secretary will maintain administrative material and application to be presented to committee chair and News Letter Editor.
February, March, and April: Publication on CCCC’s website for scholarship requirements, eligibility, and designated mailing address for request of and receipt of applications.
May and June: Announcements on CCCC’s website of scholarship dead line of June 1st.
June: Board meeting presentation by scholarship committee chair those recommendation's for scholarship awards for approval by Board . It is understood that the Board may request review of completed applications. Allocation by Board of scholarship fund to be divided equally among recipients.
July: Announcements on CCCC’s website of scholarship recipients.
August: Awarding of checks at club meeting to those recipients able to attend and mailing to those not in attendance. Contact Eric Keyes at ccc92@chicagocrossroads.com
Scholarship Essay:
The essay is a key part of the Chicago Crossroad Corvette Club scholarship application. It helps us to become acquainted with you in ways other than courses, grades, and test scores. The required length for the essay is 300 – 500 typed words, double spaced. Application can be accessed on our web site. Applications must be post marked no later than April 30, 2010 to be considered for the scholarship.
